Guru MCP: your knowledge base, available to your AI app

Guru holds your team's knowledge base, and Guru's MCP server connects AI tools to it, so Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor can answer from what your company has already written down. ContextGate connects it with a Guru sign-in; a policy can hide personal data or block secrets in what comes back, and Activity records what was looked up.

Connect Guru to Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor

  1. 1Click Connect Guru free and sign in with your Guru account.
  2. 2The full tool list appears after connecting, all on. If reading the knowledge base is all your AI app should do, switch off any tool that does more.
  3. 3Add ContextGate to your AI app as a connector or MCP server. The steps for each app are on the Works with page.
  4. 4Ask your AI app how your team handles a process, according to Guru, then check Activity for the lookup.

Ask your Guru knowledge base

  • Answer a colleague's question from your Guru knowledge base without searching by hand.
  • Bring company knowledge into Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor while you work.

Knowledge base access, recorded

  • A policy can hide personal data or block secrets that sit in knowledge base content.
  • Switch off any Guru tool and ContextGate refuses calls to it.
  • Activity lists every Guru lookup.

What you get with Guru and ContextGate

  • Your AI apps can use GuruClaude, Cursor, ChatGPT and other AI apps reach Guru through the one ContextGate connection you add to them.
  • You choose which tools they can useSwitch off any Guru tool you don't want used. It's hidden from your AI apps and refused if called.
  • Every call is checked and recordedYour policies check each call (for example, personal data is hidden and secrets are blocked), and Activity keeps a record of it.

ContextGate sees only the tool calls that go through it, not your AI app's built-in tools or your chats.

Guru tools

Guru's own MCP server shows its tools once you sign in. When you connect it, they are listed and synced in your workspace.
