JumpCloud MCP: your directory, reachable from your AI app

JumpCloud's MCP server gives your AI app an API for managing your JumpCloud resources: the directory behind your organization's identity, access and device management. Because that directory decides who can sign in to what, ContextGate lets you switch off any tool you'd keep for admins and shows each change, such as a deleted role, in Activity, from Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor.

Connecting JumpCloud to Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor

  1. 1Click Connect JumpCloud free and sign in with your JumpCloud account.
  2. 2Your directory controls access, so read the tool list closely once you connect. Keep lookups, and switch off tools that delete or change resources, such as deleting a role.
  3. 3Add ContextGate to your AI app as a connector or MCP server. The steps for each app are on the Works with page.
  4. 4Ask your AI app a question about the JumpCloud resources you manage, then open Activity to see which calls it made.

JumpCloud from Claude or ChatGPT

  • Ask about the JumpCloud resources your organization manages, in plain language.
  • Work with the directory behind identity, access and device management for Windows, Apple, Linux and Android.
  • Delete a role you've confirmed is no longer assigned.

The full tool list appears in ContextGate after you connect.

Directory changes on the record

  • Switch off role deletion and other changes; the tools are hidden and refused if called.
  • Use a policy to warn or block before a change to your directory goes through.
  • Activity keeps a record of every call, so a directory change made through an AI app can be traced.

What you get with JumpCloud and ContextGate

  • Your AI apps can use JumpCloudClaude, Cursor, ChatGPT and other AI apps reach JumpCloud through the one ContextGate connection you add to them.
  • You choose which tools they can useSwitch off any JumpCloud tool you don't want used. It's hidden from your AI apps and refused if called.
  • Every call is checked and recordedYour policies check each call (for example, personal data is hidden and secrets are blocked), and Activity keeps a record of it.

ContextGate sees only the tool calls that go through it, not your AI app's built-in tools or your chats.
