Smartling MCP: your localization account inside your AI app
Smartling handles translation and localization for companies taking their content global, and Smartling's MCP server brings your Smartling account into Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor. The full tool list appears once you connect. ContextGate lets you switch off any tool that touches content you'd rather manage in Smartling, and records every call your AI app makes.

Localization work from your AI app
- Bring Smartling, where your translation and localization work lives, into the chat where you write the source content.
- Ask about the content Smartling manages for you across platforms.
- Check what each Smartling tool does once the list appears, and keep the ones that fit your workflow.
Translation changes you can account for
- Switch off a Smartling tool and it's hidden from your AI app and refused if called.
- Policies check every call, for example to block a secret pasted into source text.
- Activity records each Smartling call your team's AI apps make.
What you get with Smartling and ContextGate
- Your AI apps can use SmartlingClaude, Cursor, ChatGPT and other AI apps reach Smartling through the one ContextGate connection you add to them.
- You choose which tools they can useSwitch off any Smartling tool you don't want used. It's hidden from your AI apps and refused if called.
- Every call is checked and recordedYour policies check each call (for example, personal data is hidden and secrets are blocked), and Activity keeps a record of it.
