Wolfram MCP: Wolfram|Alpha and Wolfram Language in your AI app
Ask a math, physics or chemistry question and get a computed answer from Wolfram|Alpha, or have your AI app run Wolfram Language code in a real kernel. Wolfram's MCP server brings curated data and Wolfram's algorithms to Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor through ContextGate, where you can switch off the code evaluator and keep Wolfram|Alpha answers.

Add Wolfram to Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor
- 1Click Connect Wolfram free. There's no sign-in, so its tools are ready at once.
- 2`WolframAlpha` answers natural-language questions and `WolframContext` retrieves Wolfram information by semantic search. `WolframLanguageEvaluator` runs code in a Wolfram Language kernel; switch it off if your AI app should ask questions but not run code.
- 3Add ContextGate to your AI app as a connector or MCP server. The steps for each app are on the Works with page.
- 4Ask your AI app for the boiling point of ethanol at half an atmosphere, then open Activity to see the `WolframAlpha` call.
Computation and data from Wolfram, inside Claude or Cursor
- Ask `WolframAlpha` about entities in chemistry, physics, geography, history, art or astronomy and get computed results.
- Have your AI app write Wolfram Language and run it with `WolframLanguageEvaluator`.
- Use `WolframContext` to pull relevant Wolfram information into a conversation before your AI app answers.
Decide whether code runs
- Switch off `WolframLanguageEvaluator` to keep Wolfram to question answering; it's hidden and refused if called.
- Activity records every query and evaluation, so you can check which results came from Wolfram.
What you get with Wolfram and ContextGate
- Your AI apps can use WolframClaude, Cursor, ChatGPT and other AI apps reach Wolfram through the one ContextGate connection you add to them.
- You choose which tools they can useSwitch off any Wolfram tool you don't want used. It's hidden from your AI apps and refused if called.
- Every call is checked and recordedYour policies check each call (for example, personal data is hidden and secrets are blocked), and Activity keeps a record of it.
ContextGate sees only the tool calls that go through it, not your AI app's built-in tools or your chats.
