Axiom MCP: query your machine data in APL by asking

Query your Axiom event data in APL from a conversation: list datasets, read schemas and run queries, with built-in prompts for exploration, anomaly hunting and monitoring. ContextGate connects Axiom's own MCP server to Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor, and a policy can mask personal data that turns up in log results.

Point Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor at your Axiom datasets

  1. 1Click Connect Axiom free and sign in with your Axiom account.
  2. 2Every tool is on once you connect, and you'll see the list then. Axiom's tools list, describe and query data; keep the ones your team uses and switch off the rest.
  3. 3Add ContextGate to your AI app as a connector or MCP server. The steps for each app are on the Works with page.
  4. 4Ask your AI app to look for anomalies in yesterday's error events in Axiom, then open Activity to see the query call.

Debugging with Axiom data

  • List your Axiom datasets and their schemas.
  • Run an APL query without writing it yourself.
  • Use Axiom's prompts to explore a dataset or look for anomalies.
  • Check on monitoring from Cursor while you fix the bug.

Logs, with limits

  • A policy can hide personal data, such as emails in log lines, and block tokens before results reach your AI app.
  • Switch off any Axiom tool you don't want used.
  • Activity records every query your team's AI apps run.

What you get with Axiom and ContextGate

  • Your AI apps can use AxiomClaude, Cursor, ChatGPT and other AI apps reach Axiom through the one ContextGate connection you add to them.
  • You choose which tools they can useSwitch off any Axiom tool you don't want used. It's hidden from your AI apps and refused if called.
  • Every call is checked and recordedYour policies check each call (for example, personal data is hidden and secrets are blocked), and Activity keeps a record of it.

ContextGate sees only the tool calls that go through it, not your AI app's built-in tools or your chats.

Axiom tools

Axiom's own MCP server shows its tools once you sign in. When you connect it, they are listed and synced in your workspace.
