How to connect Better Stack to Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor

1. 1Click Connect Better Stack free and sign in with your Better Stack account.
2. 2Out of the box, every Better Stack tool is on. Switch off the tools that return your Uptime or Telemetry API token, and the ones that delete escalation policies or source groups, so an AI app can watch uptime without changing who gets paged.
3. 3Add ContextGate to your AI app as a connector or MCP server. The steps for each app are on the Works with page.
4. 4Ask your AI app for last month's availability on your main Better Stack monitor, then open Activity to see the call.

Uptime and on-call questions to ask

• List monitors, filter them by URL or name, and pull one monitor's availability and incidents over a date range.
• Check a monitor's response times over the last 24 hours.
• Review heartbeats and their availability, or group related heartbeats together.
• Look at status pages, escalation policies and the Grafana, New Relic and Google monitoring integrations you've set up.

Protect tokens and paging rules

• Switch off token retrieval and the delete tools; they're hidden from your AI app and refused if called.
• A policy that blocks secrets stops an API token from passing through a call, even from a tool you left on.
• Activity records every Better Stack call, including any change to an escalation policy.
