brainCloud MCP: apps, cloud code and hooks from your editor
Manage brainCloud apps, cloud code, hooks and servers from your AI app, and look up the brainCloud API while it writes client code for you. ContextGate connects brainCloud's own MCP server to Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor, so a change to cloud code always leaves a trace in Activity and any tool you don't want used can be switched off.

- Free
Set up brainCloud in Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor
- 1Click Connect brainCloud free and sign in with your brainCloud account.
- 2Cloud code and hooks run inside live brainCloud apps. If you want the API lookups for writing client code but not changes to those apps, switch off the tools that edit cloud code, hooks or servers.
- 3Add ContextGate to your AI app as a connector or MCP server. The steps for each app are on the Works with page.
- 4In Cursor, ask for the brainCloud API call that fits the feature you're building, then open Activity to see the lookup.
brainCloud work you can hand to an AI app
- Look up brainCloud API details while your AI app writes client code, instead of switching to another tab.
- Review and manage the cloud code in a brainCloud app from a chat.
- Check and change the hooks and servers attached to an app.
- Get an overview of your brainCloud apps before you start changing one.
Protect live brainCloud apps
- Switch off the tools that change cloud code, hooks or servers and keep the API lookups; switched-off tools are hidden and refused if called.
- A policy can warn or block before a cloud code change goes through, and stop secrets from being pasted into a script.
- Activity records each brainCloud call, so a changed hook can be traced back to the request that made it.
What you get with brainCloud and ContextGate
- Your AI apps can use brainCloudClaude, Cursor, ChatGPT and other AI apps reach brainCloud through the one ContextGate connection you add to them.
- You choose which tools they can useSwitch off any brainCloud tool you don't want used. It's hidden from your AI apps and refused if called.
- Every call is checked and recordedYour policies check each call (for example, personal data is hidden and secrets are blocked), and Activity keeps a record of it.
ContextGate sees only the tool calls that go through it, not your AI app's built-in tools or your chats.
brainCloud tools
brainCloud's own MCP server shows its tools once you sign in. When you connect it, they are listed and synced in your workspace.
