Chessigma MCP: openings, puzzles and Elo in your AI app

Chessigma's MCP server brings chess tools to your AI app: opening guides and names, FEN and PGN checks, the daily puzzle and Elo estimates. Chessigma describes its tools as read-only, and it needs no sign-in. ContextGate connects it to Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor next to your other apps, and each lookup appears in Activity.

Add Chessigma to Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor

  1. 1Click Connect Chessigma free. There's no sign-in, so its tools are ready at once.
  2. 2Chessigma's tools only read, and all of them are on after you connect. Switch off any you won't use, such as `get_daily_puzzle` if you only check games.
  3. 3Add ContextGate to your AI app as a connector or MCP server. The steps for each app are on the Works with page.
  4. 4Paste a PGN into your AI app and ask Chessigma to check it and name the opening, then open Activity to see the calls.

Chess questions Chessigma can answer

  • Name the opening of a game with `identify_opening`, then read Chessigma's guide to it with `get_opening_guide`.
  • Read a FEN position's legal moves, material and status, such as check or stalemate, with `analyze_position`.
  • Summarize a PGN game: players, result, opening and how it ended.
  • Get the daily chess puzzle, or estimate a new Elo rating after one game.

Read-only, and on record

  • Chessigma's tools don't change anything, but you can still switch off any of them; it's then hidden and refused if called.
  • Activity shows every Chessigma lookup your AI app made.
