Fabric MCP: your Fabric workspace inside Claude and ChatGPT
Fabric is an AI workspace for your projects, files and ideas, and its official MCP server brings that workspace into Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor. ContextGate adds it with your Fabric sign-in; the full tool list appears once you connect, and Activity shows each call your AI app makes to Fabric.

Connect Fabric to Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor
- 1Click Connect Fabric free and sign in with your Fabric account.
- 2Fabric's tools are only listed after you connect, and they all start on. If any of them changes or publishes your Fabric content, switch it off when your AI app should only read.
- 3Add ContextGate to your AI app as a connector or MCP server. The steps for each app are on the Works with page.
- 4Ask your AI app what's in one of your Fabric projects, then open Activity to see the calls it made.
Fabric in your AI app
- Bring the projects, files and ideas you keep in Fabric into a chat with Claude or ChatGPT.
- Use Fabric's official MCP server, connected once for every AI app in your ContextGate workspace.
- See the exact tools as soon as the connection is added.
Your Fabric content, on your terms
- Switch off any Fabric tool; your AI app won't see it and calls to it are refused.
- A policy can hide personal data or block secrets in what moves between Fabric and your AI app.
- Activity records every Fabric call made through ContextGate.
What you get with Fabric and ContextGate
- Your AI apps can use FabricClaude, Cursor, ChatGPT and other AI apps reach Fabric through the one ContextGate connection you add to them.
- You choose which tools they can useSwitch off any Fabric tool you don't want used. It's hidden from your AI apps and refused if called.
- Every call is checked and recordedYour policies check each call (for example, personal data is hidden and secrets are blocked), and Activity keeps a record of it.
ContextGate sees only the tool calls that go through it, not your AI app's built-in tools or your chats.
Fabric tools
Fabric's own MCP server shows its tools once you sign in. When you connect it, they are listed and synced in your workspace.
