Rackspace Spot MCP: Kubernetes Cloudspaces from your AI app
Rackspace Spot's MCP server lets your AI app manage Kubernetes Cloudspaces, node pools and VMs on Rackspace Spot. ContextGate connects it to Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor; switch off the tools that change or delete resources and your AI app can still describe your clusters, with each call written to Activity.

Manage Rackspace Spot from Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor
- 1Click Connect Rackspace Spot free and sign in with your Rackspace Spot account.
- 2Every tool is on once connected, and the list appears then. Switch off the tools that create, resize or delete Cloudspaces, node pools or VMs if your AI app should only report on them.
- 3Add ContextGate to your AI app as a connector or MCP server. The steps for each app are on the Works with page.
- 4Ask your AI app to list the node pools in one of your Cloudspaces, then open Activity to see the call.
Cluster work you can do from Claude Code or Cursor
- Check on your Kubernetes Cloudspaces from a chat.
- Manage the node pools in a Cloudspace while you work in your editor.
- Look after your VMs on Rackspace Spot from the same AI app.
Keep cloud changes under review
- Switch off the tools that change Cloudspaces or node pools; they're hidden and refused if called.
- Use a policy to warn or block before an AI app changes a node pool.
- Activity keeps a record of every Rackspace Spot call, so a change to a cluster can be traced.
What you get with Rackspace Spot and ContextGate
- Your AI apps can use Rackspace SpotClaude, Cursor, ChatGPT and other AI apps reach Rackspace Spot through the one ContextGate connection you add to them.
- You choose which tools they can useSwitch off any Rackspace Spot tool you don't want used. It's hidden from your AI apps and refused if called.
- Every call is checked and recordedYour policies check each call (for example, personal data is hidden and secrets are blocked), and Activity keeps a record of it.
ContextGate sees only the tool calls that go through it, not your AI app's built-in tools or your chats.
