SteamGPT MCP: Steam profiles, bans and FACEIT stats on request
Check a Steam player's bans, convert a SteamID between formats or pull FACEIT stats for a CS2 player by asking Claude or ChatGPT. SteamGPT's free MCP server has 9 tools covering profiles, friends and account comparisons, with no API key. ContextGate connects it to your AI apps, and the friend-list tools can be switched off if your work doesn't need them.

Set up SteamGPT in Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor
- 1Click Connect SteamGPT free. There's no sign-in, so its tools are ready at once.
- 2All nine tools read Steam and FACEIT data. If you only handle cheating reports, keep `steam_bans`, `steam_batch` and `steam_faceit`, and consider switching off `steam_friends` and `steam_compare`, which dig into players' friend lists.
- 3Add ContextGate to your AI app as a connector or MCP server. The steps for each app are on the Works with page.
- 4Paste a match roster into your AI app and ask which players have VAC bans, then open Activity to see the `steam_batch` call.
Steam lookups for moderators and teams
- Check whether an account has a VAC, game, community or trade ban with `steam_bans`.
- Convert a SteamID between steamid64, STEAM_0, STEAM_1, [U:1:x] and other formats using `steam_convert`.
- Look up a CS2 player's FACEIT level and ELO, or whether the FACEIT account is banned, with `steam_faceit`.
- Check up to 100 ids from a roster at once with `steam_batch`, or compare two players for smurf and alt-account hints with `steam_compare`.
Keep player lookups in proportion
- Switch off `steam_friends` if your AI app has no reason to look at who a player knows; it's hidden and refused.
- Activity records every lookup, so a ban decision can be traced back to the data behind it.
What you get with SteamGPT and ContextGate
- Your AI apps can use SteamGPTClaude, Cursor, ChatGPT and other AI apps reach SteamGPT through the one ContextGate connection you add to them.
- You choose which tools they can useSwitch off any SteamGPT tool you don't want used. It's hidden from your AI apps and refused if called.
- Every call is checked and recordedYour policies check each call (for example, personal data is hidden and secrets are blocked), and Activity keeps a record of it.
ContextGate sees only the tool calls that go through it, not your AI app's built-in tools or your chats.
