Tarteel MCP: Quran translation, tafsir and recitation in chat

How to connect Tarteel to Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor

  1. 1Click Connect Tarteel free. There's no sign-in, so its tools are ready at once.
  2. 2All 16 tools read Quran text, audio or prayer times. Some, such as `lookup_reciters` and `get_tafsir_text`, are helpers your AI app uses behind the user-facing tools, so keep them on; switch off `play_ayahs` or `prayer_times` only if you won't use audio or timetables.
  3. 3Add ContextGate to your AI app as a connector or MCP server. The steps for each app are on the Works with page.
  4. 4Ask your AI app for the English translation and a tafsir of Ayat al-Kursi, then open Activity to see the `ayah_translation` and `ayah_tafsir` calls.

Quran study with Tarteel

  • Show the translation of an ayah with `ayah_translation`, or its tafsir commentary with `ayah_tafsir`.
  • Search the Quran for a word or phrase with `ayah_search`.
  • Find where a phrase repeats in other ayahs with `phrase_mutashabihat`.
  • Play a recitation by your chosen reciter with `play_ayahs`, or get prayer times for a city with `prayer_times`.
