Whimsical MCP: diagrams and wireframes from a prompt

Describe a process and get a Whimsical flowchart, or turn meeting notes into a mind map. The Whimsical MCP server creates and edits flowcharts, sequence diagrams, mind maps, wireframes and docs, and searches your Whimsical workspace. ContextGate connects it to Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor, and the edit tools can be switched off so your AI app only adds new diagrams.

Connect Whimsical to your AI app

  1. 1Click Connect Whimsical free and sign in with your Whimsical account.
  2. 2All tools are on once you connect, and the full list appears then. Creating new diagrams is low risk; editing existing ones changes work your team relies on, so switch off the edit tools if your AI app should only add new files.
  3. 3Add ContextGate to your AI app as a connector or MCP server. The steps for each app are on the Works with page.
  4. 4Ask Claude to draw a sequence diagram of your login flow in Whimsical, then open Activity to see the call that created it.
