WindowsForum MCP: Windows fixes and KB details in your AI app

When a Windows update breaks something, ask your AI app to search WindowsForum.com threads and posts for others who hit the same problem, pull Windows news, or fetch the Microsoft KB details behind a patch. WindowsForum's MCP server does the searching and fetching. ContextGate connects it to Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor and keeps each search in Activity.

  2. 2The full list appears after sign-in with every tool on. WindowsForum describes its server as search and fetch, so check the list for anything beyond that, such as posting, and switch it off if your AI app shouldn't write to the forum.
  3. 3Add ContextGate to your AI app as a connector or MCP server. The steps for each app are on the Works with page.
  4. 4Give your AI app a KB number and ask what it changes and what WindowsForum members say about it, then open Activity to see both calls.
