Angelcam MCP: read-only camera checks from your AI app

See live snapshots, look back through recordings and check camera health on your Angelcam security cameras by asking your AI app. Angelcam's MCP server is read-only, so nothing about your cameras can be changed. Through ContextGate, Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor can use it, and each time footage is pulled into a chat, it's recorded.

Hook your Angelcam cameras up to an AI app

  1. 1Click Connect Angelcam free and sign in with your Angelcam account.
  2. 2Angelcam's tools only read, and they're all on once you connect. If live snapshots or recordings shouldn't end up in chats, switch those tools off and keep the camera health check.
  3. 3Add ContextGate to your AI app as a connector or MCP server. The steps for each app are on the Works with page.
  4. 4Ask your AI app whether all your Angelcam cameras are online, then open Activity to see the call.

Camera checks without opening Angelcam

  • Grab a live snapshot from one of your cameras.
  • Find and review recordings.
  • Check camera health and spot a camera that has gone offline.

Who sees your footage

  • Switch off the snapshot or recording tools and your AI app can check camera health only.
  • Activity records every request for footage, so you know when it was viewed through ContextGate.

ContextGate sees only calls that go through it, not footage someone opens in Angelcam directly.

What you get with Angelcam and ContextGate

  • Your AI apps can use AngelcamClaude, Cursor, ChatGPT and other AI apps reach Angelcam through the one ContextGate connection you add to them.
  • You choose which tools they can useSwitch off any Angelcam tool you don't want used. It's hidden from your AI apps and refused if called.
  • Every call is checked and recordedYour policies check each call (for example, personal data is hidden and secrets are blocked), and Activity keeps a record of it.

ContextGate sees only the tool calls that go through it, not your AI app's built-in tools or your chats.
