Make MCP: build and debug scenarios from your AI app

Make's MCP server lets your AI app build, run and debug Make automation scenarios: the visual workflows that connect your apps. Describe the automation you need, or ask why a scenario failed, from Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor. ContextGate connects them, and because a run acts on the apps in the scenario, you can switch off running and see each run in Activity.

Set up Make in Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor

  1. 1Click Connect Make free and sign in with your Make account.
  2. 2Building and debugging stay inside Make; running a scenario acts on every app it connects. When the tool list appears after connecting, switch off any run tool you'd rather trigger yourself.
  3. 3Add ContextGate to your AI app as a connector or MCP server. The steps for each app are on the Works with page.
  4. 4Ask your AI app why a Make scenario failed on its last run, then open Activity to see what it looked at.

Automation work with Make

  • Describe a workflow in plain words and have your AI app build the scenario.
  • Run a scenario on demand from a chat.
  • Debug a scenario that isn't doing what you expect.

The exact tool list appears in ContextGate after you connect.

Runs you can account for

  • Switch off run tools so your AI app can design and debug but not start scenarios.
  • Policies check every call, so credentials pasted into a scenario description can be blocked.
  • Activity records each scenario your AI app builds, runs or debugs.

What you get with Make and ContextGate

  • Your AI apps can use MakeClaude, Cursor, ChatGPT and other AI apps reach Make through the one ContextGate connection you add to them.
  • You choose which tools they can useSwitch off any Make tool you don't want used. It's hidden from your AI apps and refused if called.
  • Every call is checked and recordedYour policies check each call (for example, personal data is hidden and secrets are blocked), and Activity keeps a record of it.

ContextGate sees only the tool calls that go through it, not your AI app's built-in tools or your chats.
