Signal Sprint MCP: paid x402 utilities for your AI app

Signal Sprint is a set of paid x402 utilities on Base: check an address's USDC balance, read a block's metadata, get the current gas price or generate a short profile bio for an AI agent. Each call costs USDC, so ContextGate's tool switches matter here. Switch off what you won't use, and Activity shows every call Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor made.

Set up Signal Sprint in Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor

  1. 1Click Connect Signal Sprint free. There's no sign-in, so its tools are ready at once.
  2. 2Every tool is on after connecting, and each call is paid in USDC on Base through x402. `signal_sprint_profile_bio` costs $1.00 a call against $0.005 for each lookup, so switch it off unless you want your AI app writing agent bios.
  3. 3Add ContextGate to your AI app as a connector or MCP server. The steps for each app are on the Works with page.
  4. 4Ask your AI app for the USDC balance of a Base address, then open Activity to see the call.

Lookups Signal Sprint answers

  • Check the current USDC balance of an EVM address on Base with `signal_sprint_base_usdc_balance`.
  • Read compact public metadata for a Base block hash with `signal_sprint_base_block`.
  • Get the current Base gas price in wei and gwei with `signal_sprint_base_gas_price` before you send a transaction yourself.
  • Generate a short professional profile bio for an AI agent.

Paid calls, kept visible

  • Every Signal Sprint tool is a paid x402 call; switch off the ones you don't need and your AI app can't call them.
  • A policy can warn before a call goes through, so a paid lookup gets a second look.
  • Activity keeps a record of every paid call that went through ContextGate.

What you get with Signal Sprint and ContextGate

  • Your AI apps can use Signal SprintClaude, Cursor, ChatGPT and other AI apps reach Signal Sprint through the one ContextGate connection you add to them.
  • You choose which tools they can useSwitch off any Signal Sprint tool you don't want used. It's hidden from your AI apps and refused if called.
  • Every call is checked and recordedYour policies check each call (for example, personal data is hidden and secrets are blocked), and Activity keeps a record of it.

ContextGate sees only the tool calls that go through it, not your AI app's built-in tools or your chats.
