Redbooth MCP: tasks, comments and project updates in your AI app

Redbooth's MCP server lets your AI app manage tasks, task lists, comments, tags and files in Redbooth, and get project updates in plain language. ContextGate connects it to Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor, so you can keep the reading tools, switch off the ones that post comments or edit tasks, and see each call in Activity.

Bring Redbooth projects into Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor

  1. 1Click Connect Redbooth free and sign in with your Redbooth account.
  2. 2Every Redbooth tool is on after you connect. If your AI app should report on projects without changing them, switch off the tools that create or edit tasks, post comments or change tags and files.
  3. 3Add ContextGate to your AI app as a connector or MCP server. The steps for each app are on the Works with page.
  4. 4Ask your AI app for an update on a Redbooth project, then open Activity to see the calls it made.

Project work you can hand to Claude or ChatGPT

  • Create and update Redbooth tasks and task lists from a chat.
  • Get a project update without reading through every task.
  • Add comments and tags to tasks as you discuss them.
  • Work with the files attached to your Redbooth tasks.

Keep Redbooth tidy

  • Switch off the tools that post comments or edit tasks; they're hidden and refused if called.
  • Policies check every call, so a password pasted into a task comment can be blocked before it's posted.
  • Activity lists every Redbooth call, so you can see which AI app changed a task.

What you get with Redbooth and ContextGate

  • Your AI apps can use RedboothClaude, Cursor, ChatGPT and other AI apps reach Redbooth through the one ContextGate connection you add to them.
  • You choose which tools they can useSwitch off any Redbooth tool you don't want used. It's hidden from your AI apps and refused if called.
  • Every call is checked and recordedYour policies check each call (for example, personal data is hidden and secrets are blocked), and Activity keeps a record of it.

ContextGate sees only the tool calls that go through it, not your AI app's built-in tools or your chats.

Redbooth tools

Redbooth's own MCP server shows its tools once you sign in. When you connect it, they are listed and synced in your workspace.
