TrackingTime MCP: hours, projects and reports in your AI app

TrackingTime's MCP server reaches the time entries, projects, tasks, users, customers, services and reports in your account, the back office agencies use for billable hours, retainers and timesheets. Ask Claude or ChatGPT how many hours went into a client's projects last month. ContextGate connects it, and Activity shows every change to logged time.

Connect TrackingTime in four steps

  1. 1Click Connect TrackingTime free and sign in with your TrackingTime account.
  2. 2Logged hours often feed billing and payroll. Keep report and project lookups on, and switch off the tools that edit time entries; every tool starts on when you connect.
  3. 3Add ContextGate to your AI app as a connector or MCP server. The steps for each app are on the Works with page.
  4. 4Ask your AI app how many hours your team logged on one customer's projects last month, then open Activity to see the calls.

Agency admin you can ask for

  • Pull a report of hours by customer or project for a retainer check-in.
  • See which tasks sit on a project and who's on them.
  • Look up the services and customers set up in TrackingTime.
  • Log time against a task from the chat where you did the work.

Billable hours, protected

  • Switch off the tools that create or change time entries; your AI app can't see them and calls are refused.
  • Activity records every call, so an edit to someone's hours is traceable.
  • A policy can hide team members' personal data when user records come back.

What you get with TrackingTime and ContextGate

  • Your AI apps can use TrackingTimeClaude, Cursor, ChatGPT and other AI apps reach TrackingTime through the one ContextGate connection you add to them.
  • You choose which tools they can useSwitch off any TrackingTime tool you don't want used. It's hidden from your AI apps and refused if called.
  • Every call is checked and recordedYour policies check each call (for example, personal data is hidden and secrets are blocked), and Activity keeps a record of it.

ContextGate sees only the tool calls that go through it, not your AI app's built-in tools or your chats.
