Scite MCP: scientific literature behind your AI app's answers

Scite's MCP server grounds your AI app's answers in scientific literature: it searches full text, helps you evaluate how far to trust what it finds and opens full-text articles. ContextGate connects it to Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor, and Activity keeps each literature search on record so the sources behind an answer are easy to find.

Connect Scite's literature to Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor

  1. 1Click Connect Scite free and sign in with your Scite account.
  2. 2Scite's tools search and read literature, and all are on after you connect. Switch off any your research doesn't use; the list appears once connected.
  3. 3Add ContextGate to your AI app as a connector or MCP server. The steps for each app are on the Works with page.
  4. 4Ask your AI app what the literature says about a treatment or method, with sources, then open Activity to see the searches it ran.

Check claims against the literature

  • Search the full text of scientific papers for a claim you want to check.
  • Evaluate how much trust a finding deserves before you cite it.
  • Open a full-text article and ask your AI app about its methods.
  • Draw on Scite's Smart Citations when you write up a literature review.

Research you can retrace

  • Switch off any Scite tool; it's hidden from your AI app and refused if called.
  • Policies check each call, so patient details or other personal data in a query can be hidden first.
  • Activity records every search, so the sources behind an answer are easy to find again.
