Alchemy MCP: blockchain data from 100+ chains in your AI app

Alchemy's MCP server puts blockchain data from 100+ chains in front of your AI app: token prices, NFTs, transfers, simulation, traces and Solana DAS. Rather than writing calls against the Alchemy API, ask Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor. ContextGate connects it, checks each call against your workspace policies and logs every wallet or contract lookup in Activity.

Connect Alchemy to Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor

  1. 1Click Connect Alchemy free and sign in with your Alchemy account.
  2. 2Alchemy's tools look up chain data, so most teams keep them. The full list appears after you connect; switch off whatever your AI app has no use for, such as the NFT lookups on a project that only deals in tokens.
  3. 3Add ContextGate to your AI app as a connector or MCP server. The steps for each app are on the Works with page.
  4. 4Ask your AI app which ERC-20 tokens a wallet holds, then open Activity to see the Alchemy call behind the answer.

Onchain questions to ask Claude or Cursor

  • Check the ERC-20 token balances of an Ethereum address, and fetch a token's name, symbol, decimals and logo.
  • List every NFT in a collection, find who owns a given token, or pull the collection's contract metadata.
  • Look up historical NFT sales across marketplaces, filtered by block range or marketplace.
  • Get the transaction count (nonce) sent from an address.
  • Work with token prices, transfers, traces and Solana DAS across more than 100 chains.

These are examples; the exact tool list appears in ContextGate after you connect.

Watch what your AI app asks Alchemy

  • Switch off any Alchemy tool you don't need; it's hidden from your AI app and refused if called.
  • Policies check each call, so a private key pasted into a prompt by mistake can be blocked before it reaches Alchemy.
  • Activity records every lookup, so you can see which addresses and contracts your team's AI apps queried.

What you get with Alchemy and ContextGate

  • Your AI apps can use AlchemyClaude, Cursor, ChatGPT and other AI apps reach Alchemy through the one ContextGate connection you add to them.
  • You choose which tools they can useSwitch off any Alchemy tool you don't want used. It's hidden from your AI apps and refused if called.
  • Every call is checked and recordedYour policies check each call (for example, personal data is hidden and secrets are blocked), and Activity keeps a record of it.

ContextGate sees only the tool calls that go through it, not your AI app's built-in tools or your chats.
