Chatbase MCP: manage your support agents from Claude or ChatGPT
Chatbase builds customer-facing AI agents, and its MCP server lets your AI app manage them: the agents themselves, their sources, conversations and help-desk tickets. ContextGate connects it to Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor with no code against the Chatbase API, and a policy can hide customers' personal details in conversations before your AI app reads them.

Hooking Chatbase up to Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor
- 1Click Connect Chatbase free and sign in with your Chatbase account.
- 2All tools start on. Changing an agent's sources changes what it tells your customers, so switch off agent and source edits if your AI app should only read conversations and tickets.
- 3Add ContextGate to your AI app as a connector or MCP server. The steps for each app are on the Works with page.
- 4Ask your AI app to summarize this week's Chatbase conversations about refunds, then open Activity to see the call.
Support and sales work in Chatbase, from a chat
- Review the conversations your Chatbase agents have had with customers.
- Add or update the sources an agent answers from.
- Work through help-desk tickets without switching tabs.
- Manage your Chatbase agents from Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor.
Customer data and agent changes, under control
- Switch off the tools that change agents or sources; they're hidden and refused if called.
- A policy can hide customer emails and phone numbers in conversations and tickets.
- Activity keeps a record of every Chatbase call, so a source change can be traced.
What you get with Chatbase and ContextGate
- Your AI apps can use ChatbaseClaude, Cursor, ChatGPT and other AI apps reach Chatbase through the one ContextGate connection you add to them.
- You choose which tools they can useSwitch off any Chatbase tool you don't want used. It's hidden from your AI apps and refused if called.
- Every call is checked and recordedYour policies check each call (for example, personal data is hidden and secrets are blocked), and Activity keeps a record of it.
ContextGate sees only the tool calls that go through it, not your AI app's built-in tools or your chats.
