Mem0 MCP: long-term memory for Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor

Long-term memory for AI agents: Mem0's MCP server lets your AI app add, search, update and delete memories, so Claude can recall what it learned about a user or project last week. ContextGate connects it to Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor, and you can switch off bulk deletes, since a delete without filters can wipe every memory.

Add Mem0 to your AI app

  1. 1Click Connect Mem0 free and sign in to Mem0.
  2. 2Keep add and search. Switch off the delete tools, because a delete without filters can remove all memories and deleting a user, agent or project wipes its data for good; organization and member tools can go too.
  3. 3Add ContextGate to your AI app as a connector or MCP server. The steps for each app are on the Works with page.
  4. 4Tell your AI app a preference worth remembering, ask about it in a new chat, then open Activity to see the add and search calls.

Memory your AI app can use

  • Store new memories from a conversation, tied to a user, agent, app or run.
  • Search memories in plain language, with filters, and fetch one by its ID.
  • Export memories into a schema you define.
  • Set up projects, agents and users to keep memories apart.

Keep memories from vanishing

  • Switch off delete memories, batch delete and entity delete; adding and searching still work.
  • Policies can block secrets, so a password mentioned in a chat isn't stored as a memory.
  • Activity shows what each AI app saved to Mem0 and what it searched for.

What you get with Mem0 and ContextGate

  • Your AI apps can use Mem0Claude, Cursor, ChatGPT and other AI apps reach Mem0 through the one ContextGate connection you add to them.
  • You choose which tools they can useSwitch off any Mem0 tool you don't want used. It's hidden from your AI apps and refused if called.
  • Every call is checked and recordedYour policies check each call (for example, personal data is hidden and secrets are blocked), and Activity keeps a record of it.

ContextGate sees only the tool calls that go through it, not your AI app's built-in tools or your chats.
