Octoparse MCP: scraping templates and cloud tasks from a chat
Octoparse's official MCP server lets your AI app find scraping templates, run cloud tasks and export the structured data they collect. ContextGate connects it to Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor with your Octoparse sign-in, so you can ask for a scrape in plain words and still see in Activity which tasks were started and which exports were pulled.

Hook Octoparse up to Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor
- 1Click Connect Octoparse free and sign in with your Octoparse account.
- 2Every tool is on once you connect. Running a cloud task is the action to watch: switch off the task tools if you'd rather your AI app only browsed templates and exported data from tasks you started.
- 3Add ContextGate to your AI app as a connector or MCP server. The steps for each app are on the Works with page.
- 4Ask your AI app which Octoparse templates fit a product-listing site, then check Activity for the call.
Scraping jobs you can ask for
- Discover an Octoparse template that already fits the site you want data from.
- Start a cloud task from a chat instead of the Octoparse app.
- Export a task's results as structured data your AI app can work with.
Keep scraping runs in check
- Switch off the cloud-task tools and your AI app can only look up templates and export data.
- A policy can warn or block before a cloud task is started.
- Activity records each template search, task run and export.
What you get with Octoparse and ContextGate
- Your AI apps can use OctoparseClaude, Cursor, ChatGPT and other AI apps reach Octoparse through the one ContextGate connection you add to them.
- You choose which tools they can useSwitch off any Octoparse tool you don't want used. It's hidden from your AI apps and refused if called.
- Every call is checked and recordedYour policies check each call (for example, personal data is hidden and secrets are blocked), and Activity keeps a record of it.
ContextGate sees only the tool calls that go through it, not your AI app's built-in tools or your chats.
Octoparse tools
Octoparse's own MCP server shows its tools once you sign in. When you connect it, they are listed and synced in your workspace.
