POEditor MCP: manage translation projects from your AI app
POEditor's official MCP server is hosted, uses OAuth 2.1, and connects your AI app to your POEditor account so you can manage translation projects without the POEditor UI or API scripts. ContextGate connects it to Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor, and each change your AI app makes to a localization project is kept in Activity for your team to check.

Link POEditor projects to your AI app
- 1Click Connect POEditor free and sign in with your POEditor account.
- 2POEditor's tools are listed after sign-in, every one on. Keep the project tools your localization work needs and switch off any that change projects in ways you'd rather handle by hand.
- 3Add ContextGate to your AI app as a connector or MCP server. The steps for each app are on the Works with page.
- 4Ask your AI app for an overview of one of your POEditor projects, then open Activity to see the call.
Localization from a chat
- Manage POEditor projects from Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor.
- Skip writing API scripts for routine project work.
- Work on translations without switching to the POEditor UI.
POEditor's full tool list appears in ContextGate once you sign in.
Project changes, tracked
- Switch off a POEditor tool and your AI apps lose sight of it; calls to it are refused.
- A policy can warn or block before a project change goes through.
- Activity lists each POEditor call, so you can trace a project change back to the request behind it.
What you get with POEditor and ContextGate
- Your AI apps can use POEditorClaude, Cursor, ChatGPT and other AI apps reach POEditor through the one ContextGate connection you add to them.
- You choose which tools they can useSwitch off any POEditor tool you don't want used. It's hidden from your AI apps and refused if called.
- Every call is checked and recordedYour policies check each call (for example, personal data is hidden and secrets are blocked), and Activity keeps a record of it.
ContextGate sees only the tool calls that go through it, not your AI app's built-in tools or your chats.
POEditor tools
POEditor's own MCP server shows its tools once you sign in. When you connect it, they are listed and synced in your workspace.
