Precip MCP: forecasts, rain totals and soil data in your AI app

Precip's MCP server answers weather questions for your saved locations or any point in the US or Canada: history, nowcasts, forecasts and soil data, from recent rain totals to minute-by-minute precipitation. ContextGate connects it to Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor with your Precip sign-in, and every weather lookup is listed in Activity.

Connect Precip weather data to your AI app

  1. 1Click Connect Precip free and sign in with your Precip account.
  2. 2Precip's tools show up after sign-in, all of them on. They cover weather and soil data; if some cover data your team won't use, switch them off to keep your AI app's list short.
  3. 3Add ContextGate to your AI app as a connector or MCP server. The steps for each app are on the Works with page.
  4. 4Ask your AI app how much rain fell at one of your saved locations over the past week, then open Activity to see the lookup.
