Unlayer MCP: email, page and document templates from your AI app

Unlayer's MCP server lets AI assistants and coding agents generate email, page and PDF document templates, either as React code with Unlayer Elements or with AI. Import existing HTML, export to HTML, PDF or PNG, and fine-tune in Unlayer's visual builder. ContextGate connects it to Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor and records every template your AI app creates.

Add Unlayer to Cursor, Claude or ChatGPT

  1. 1Click Connect Unlayer free and sign in with your Unlayer account.
  2. 2Generation and export are the core of Unlayer's server. With every tool on after connecting, switch off HTML import if your team builds templates only in code.
  3. 3Add ContextGate to your AI app as a connector or MCP server. The steps for each app are on the Works with page.
  4. 4Ask your AI app to generate a password-reset email template as React code and export it to HTML, then open Activity to see both calls.

Template work for coding agents

  • Generate an email template as React code with Unlayer Elements.
  • Create page and PDF document templates from a description.
  • Import an existing HTML template to keep working on it.
  • Export a finished template to HTML, PDF or PNG.

Templates with a trail

  • Activity records every generate, import and export call.
  • Switch off any Unlayer tool and your AI app can't see or call it.
  • A policy can hide personal data, such as a real customer's name in sample content, before it reaches Unlayer.

What you get with Unlayer and ContextGate

  • Your AI apps can use UnlayerClaude, Cursor, ChatGPT and other AI apps reach Unlayer through the one ContextGate connection you add to them.
  • You choose which tools they can useSwitch off any Unlayer tool you don't want used. It's hidden from your AI apps and refused if called.
  • Every call is checked and recordedYour policies check each call (for example, personal data is hidden and secrets are blocked), and Activity keeps a record of it.

ContextGate sees only the tool calls that go through it, not your AI app's built-in tools or your chats.

Unlayer tools

Unlayer's own MCP server shows its tools once you sign in. When you connect it, they are listed and synced in your workspace.
