Browser Use MCP: hand web tasks to cloud browser agents

Browser Use runs browser agents and stealth cloud browsers that carry out web tasks: filling in forms, working through sites and extracting data. The Browser Use MCP server lets Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor start those runs and collect the results. ContextGate connects it and lets you switch off paid browser sessions or deletions, so costs and stored data stay where you expect.

Wire Browser Use into Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor

  1. 1Click Connect Browser Use free and sign in with your Browser Use account.
  2. 2Some tools cost money or remove things: a managed browser session is paid for, and profile, session and file deletes are permanent. Switch those off if your AI app should only check runs and read results.
  3. 3Add ContextGate to your AI app as a connector or MCP server. The steps for each app are on the Works with page.
  4. 4Ask your AI app to have a Browser Use agent collect the plans listed on a public pricing page, then open Activity to follow the run from start to result.

Web tasks you can hand off

  • Run a browser agent on a task such as filling in a form or extracting data from a site.
  • Poll a run's status, fetch its full result and usage, or cancel it if it's going wrong.
  • Keep persistent browser profiles so cookies and browser state carry over between runs.
  • Store run input files and outputs in workspaces.
  • Start a managed cloud browser for direct control and check its status, costs and recording state.

Browser Use's tools number in the dozens; the exact list appears in ContextGate after you connect.

Limits on what agents can start or remove

  • Switch off browser session creation so your AI app can't start paid browsers on its own.
  • Use a policy to warn or block before a profile, session or workspace file is deleted.
  • Activity keeps a record of every run your AI app starts, cancels or deletes.

What you get with Browser Use and ContextGate

  • Your AI apps can use Browser UseClaude, Cursor, ChatGPT and other AI apps reach Browser Use through the one ContextGate connection you add to them.
  • You choose which tools they can useSwitch off any Browser Use tool you don't want used. It's hidden from your AI apps and refused if called.
  • Every call is checked and recordedYour policies check each call (for example, personal data is hidden and secrets are blocked), and Activity keeps a record of it.

ContextGate sees only the tool calls that go through it, not your AI app's built-in tools or your chats.
