Liner MCP: cited answers and deep research for your AI app
Run real-time web and scholarly searches, get answers with citations, or start multi-step deep research, all from your AI app through Liner's MCP server. ContextGate connects Liner to Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor, and Activity shows each search and deep-research run, which matters once a whole team is researching through it.

- 4Ask your AI app to find recent scholarly papers on sleep and memory, with citations, then open Activity to see the Liner call.
Research with sources attached
- Search the web in real time and get an answer with citations.
- Search scholarly literature for papers on a topic.
- Run multi-step deep research on a question and get cited results back.
Research you can account for
- Activity records every search, answer and deep-research request.
- Policies check each call, so a secret or a confidential project name can be blocked before a query goes out.
- Switch off deep research or scholarly search if your team doesn't use them.
What you get with Liner and ContextGate
- Your AI apps can use LinerClaude, Cursor, ChatGPT and other AI apps reach Liner through the one ContextGate connection you add to them.
- You choose which tools they can useSwitch off any Liner tool you don't want used. It's hidden from your AI apps and refused if called.
- Every call is checked and recordedYour policies check each call (for example, personal data is hidden and secrets are blocked), and Activity keeps a record of it.
ContextGate sees only the tool calls that go through it, not your AI app's built-in tools or your chats.
