Lucid MCP: diagrams and documents from your AI app
Lucid's MCP server lets your AI app create diagrams, search and edit your Lucid documents, share them, and pull a document's content so it can be summarized. ContextGate connects it to Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor with a Lucid sign-in, and sharing can be switched off so a diagram only leaves your team when a person shares it.

Connect Lucid to Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor
- 1Click Connect Lucid free and sign in with your Lucid account.
- 2The full tool list appears after you sign in, with every tool on. Keep creating, searching and reading; switch off sharing if documents should only be shared by a person, and editing if your AI app should leave existing diagrams alone.
- 3Add ContextGate to your AI app as a connector or MCP server. The steps for each app are on the Works with page.
- 4Ask your AI app to find your team's architecture diagram in Lucid and summarize it, then open Activity to see the calls.
Diagramming with Lucid from a chat
- Describe a process or system and have your AI app create a Lucid diagram of it.
- Search your Lucid documents and pull one in to summarize.
- Edit an existing document or share it without leaving Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor.
Control what happens to your Lucid documents
- Switch off editing or sharing, and Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor no longer see those tools.
- Policies check every call, so personal data in a document your AI app reads can be hidden.
- Activity records each call, so you can see which documents an AI app created, edited or shared.
What you get with Lucid and ContextGate
- Your AI apps can use LucidClaude, Cursor, ChatGPT and other AI apps reach Lucid through the one ContextGate connection you add to them.
- You choose which tools they can useSwitch off any Lucid tool you don't want used. It's hidden from your AI apps and refused if called.
- Every call is checked and recordedYour policies check each call (for example, personal data is hidden and secrets are blocked), and Activity keeps a record of it.
ContextGate sees only the tool calls that go through it, not your AI app's built-in tools or your chats.
Lucid tools
Lucid's own MCP server shows its tools once you sign in. When you connect it, they are listed and synced in your workspace.
