OpenAgenda MCP: search, edit and moderate events with AI
OpenAgenda's MCP server searches, analyzes and manages events, and it works with your account and your permissions, edits and moderation included. ContextGate connects it to Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor, so an agenda editor can ask for a rundown of next month's events in a chat, while the editing and moderation tools can be switched off or checked by a workspace policy.

- 2All OpenAgenda tools are on once you connect. If your AI app should only search and analyze, switch off the tools that edit or moderate events.
- 3Add ContextGate to your AI app as a connector or MCP server. The steps for each app are on the Works with page.
- 4Ask your AI app to list next weekend's events in one of your agendas, then see the search in Activity.
Event tasks for your AI app
- Search events in your agendas and get a summary in the chat.
- Analyze events, for example how many fall in a given month or venue.
- Edit an event's details without opening OpenAgenda.
- Moderate events with the permissions your account already has.
Edits and moderation, under watch
- Switch off the editing and moderation tools to keep your AI app to searching and analysis.
- A policy can warn before an event change goes through, or block it.
- Activity records every search, edit and moderation call.
What you get with OpenAgenda and ContextGate
- Your AI apps can use OpenAgendaClaude, Cursor, ChatGPT and other AI apps reach OpenAgenda through the one ContextGate connection you add to them.
- You choose which tools they can useSwitch off any OpenAgenda tool you don't want used. It's hidden from your AI apps and refused if called.
- Every call is checked and recordedYour policies check each call (for example, personal data is hidden and secrets are blocked), and Activity keeps a record of it.
ContextGate sees only the tool calls that go through it, not your AI app's built-in tools or your chats.
