Padlet MCP: read and edit your boards from Claude or ChatGPT
Read, search, create and edit Padlet boards from a chat, down to posts, sections, comments, settings and sharing. Padlet's MCP server does the work, and ContextGate connects it to Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor. A teacher can ask for a summary of every post on a class board, and you can switch off the sharing tools so an AI app can't change who sees a board.

Bring your Padlet boards into an AI app
- 1Click Connect Padlet free and sign in with your Padlet account.
- 2All Padlet tools are on once you connect. Reading and searching boards is the everyday use; switch off the tools that change settings or sharing if boards should stay as their owners set them.
- 3Add ContextGate to your AI app as a connector or MCP server. The steps for each app are on the Works with page.
- 4Ask your AI app to summarize the posts in one section of a Padlet board, then look in Activity for the calls.
Board work you can ask for
- Summarize the posts and comments on a board.
- Search your boards for a post you remember.
- Create a board with sections, or add posts to an existing one.
- Change a board's settings or who it's shared with.
Boards stay shared the way you set them
- Switch off the sharing and settings tools; your AI app can still read and post.
- Policies check each call, so a student's or colleague's personal details can be hidden.
- Activity records every board your AI app read or edited.
What you get with Padlet and ContextGate
- Your AI apps can use PadletClaude, Cursor, ChatGPT and other AI apps reach Padlet through the one ContextGate connection you add to them.
- You choose which tools they can useSwitch off any Padlet tool you don't want used. It's hidden from your AI apps and refused if called.
- Every call is checked and recordedYour policies check each call (for example, personal data is hidden and secrets are blocked), and Activity keeps a record of it.
ContextGate sees only the tool calls that go through it, not your AI app's built-in tools or your chats.
Padlet tools
Padlet's own MCP server shows its tools once you sign in. When you connect it, they are listed and synced in your workspace.
