Bird MCP: email, SMS, WhatsApp and voice from your AI app

Send and receive messages across email, SMS, WhatsApp and voice through Bird, from your AI app. Bird's own MCP server covers the channels you'd otherwise reach through the Bird API. ContextGate connects it to Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor, and a policy can block a message carrying personal data or a secret before it goes out.

Hook Bird messaging up to Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor

  1. 1Click Connect Bird free and sign in with your Bird account.
  2. 2Every tool is on once you connect, and the list appears then. Sending reaches real customers, so switch off the send tools if your AI app should only read incoming messages, or keep them and add a policy that warns first.
  3. 3Add ContextGate to your AI app as a connector or MCP server. The steps for each app are on the Works with page.
  4. 4Ask your AI app to show the latest WhatsApp messages received through Bird, then open Activity to see the call.

Messaging tasks with Bird

  • Send an email, SMS or WhatsApp message.
  • Read messages you've received across channels.
  • Handle voice alongside your text channels through one API.

Before a message reaches a customer

  • Switch off sending and your AI app can read but not send.
  • A policy can block a message containing personal data or a secret.
  • Activity records every send and read.

What you get with Bird and ContextGate

  • Your AI apps can use BirdClaude, Cursor, ChatGPT and other AI apps reach Bird through the one ContextGate connection you add to them.
  • You choose which tools they can useSwitch off any Bird tool you don't want used. It's hidden from your AI apps and refused if called.
  • Every call is checked and recordedYour policies check each call (for example, personal data is hidden and secrets are blocked), and Activity keeps a record of it.

ContextGate sees only the tool calls that go through it, not your AI app's built-in tools or your chats.
